The Piney Woods Excursion is more than just a train ride—it’s a celebration of Palestine’s history, community, and vibrant culture. Hosted at Texas State Railroad, Palestine Depot, this event highlights our town’s rich heritage, offering locals a chance to reconnect with breathtaking East Texas landscapes and the nostalgia of classic rail travel. As a hub for arts and culture, the depot brings together families, neighbors, and visitors, strengthening our sense of community and pride. Events like this remind us why Palestine is special—from our warm hospitality to the beauty of the piney woods that surround us. Participating in the Piney Woods Excursion supports local tradition, encourages cultural participation, and showcases the best of what our town has to offer. Let’s celebrate together—see you at the depot!
