About Jacobs Music Center
Jacobs Music Center, located in downtown San Diego, California, is a premier concert hall and home to the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Originally built in 1929 as the Fox Theatre, the venue boasts an elegant Gothic Revival architectural style and a lush movie palace past. After becoming the property of the San Diego Symphony in 1984, it has grown into one of the finest classical music venues on the West Coast. A major $125 million renovation completed in 2024 further enhanced acoustics, public spaces, and backstage areas. With a seating capacity of 1,831, Jacobs Music Center now hosts a wide range of concerts, community programs, and events.
