About Power Center for the Performing Arts
The Power Center for the Performing Arts in Ann Arbor, Michigan was established in 1971 to address the need for a mid-sized proscenium-stage theatre on the University of Michigan campus. Designed to bridge the gap between Hill Auditorium and Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre, it offers a spacious yet intimate setting for both student and professional performing arts events. Architectural highlights include two large spiral staircases leading from the orchestra level to the balcony and distinctive mirrored glass panels on its exterior. The venue provides exceptional sightlines, with no seat located more than 72 feet from the stage. The Power Center regularly hosts a range of performances, making it a cornerstone for arts and culture in the Ann Arbor community.
