About Painter Hall
T.S. Painter Hall is an academic building located on the University of Texas at Austin campus. It is named after Theophilus Painter, who served as UT President from 1944 to 1952. Built in 1933, Painter Hall spans seven floors and has a gross area of 129,358 square feet. The building hosts educational and departmental spaces and is known for its astronomy outreach activities, including public telescope viewing nights. Painter Hall is situated at the corner of 24th Street and Inner Campus Drive, just north of the UT Tower.
