The historic Pantages Theater in Tacoma, Washington opened its doors in 1918 as a grand vaudeville house. Renowned for its Second Renaissance Revival architecture, the venue was expertly designed by B. Marcus Priteca and commissioned by Alexander Pantages. Today, the theater hosts ballets, musicals, plays, and concerts for up to 1,273 guests, offering modern seating, improved sound and lighting, and enhanced ADA accessibility thanks to a $21.8 million renovation in 2018. Featuring both a balcony and an orchestra pit, the Pantages Theater continues to be a centerpiece for performing arts in the city. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a vibrant cultural landmark.
