The Mayan Theatre is a historic venue in downtown Los Angeles, renowned for its pre-Columbian Mayan Revival architecture by Morgan, Walls & Clements. Originally opened in 1927 as a musical comedy theater, the building has served as a movie palace, live music venue, and nightclub over its century-long history. After 35 years of operation as a music venue, it is being revitalized by the team behind HEAT Ultra Lounge, promising a new nightlife experience. The Mayan features a large main floor, VIP mezzanine and balcony levels, exclusive backstage and VIP rooms, and can host up to 1700 guests. The theatre is recognized as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and continues to host concerts, corporate events, film premieres, and brand activations.
