About Asian American Writers' Workshop
Founded in 1991, the Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW) is a nonprofit organization based in New York City devoted to amplifying Asian and Asian diasporic literature. The AAWW provides an alternative literary arts space exploring the intersection of migration, race, and social justice. They run community arts programs in local high schools and senior centers and offer fellowships to emerging writers of color in New York. AAWW produces media including podcasts and video content, and is committed to the empowerment and amplification of marginalized voices. As an established cultural institution, the AAWW fosters a vibrant cross-generational artistic community.
