San Francisco Maritime Museum

The San Francisco Maritime Museum is an integral part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, located on the city’s northern waterfront. The museum resides in an iconic Art Moderne building, originally constructed with the help of the WPA over eighty years ago. It features exhibits and collections dedicated to America’s maritime heritage, including ship models, historic vessels, and stories from San Francisco’s seafaring past. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1996, the museum is open year-round except for select holidays. Visitors can enjoy a unique cultural experience exploring the city's rich maritime legacy, with additional resources such as the park’s library and research center.
