Alliance Française de Chicago

Established in 1897, the Alliance Française de Chicago is Illinois’ premier center dedicated to French language education and cultural exchange. It is recognized as the state's only official French examination center, offering internationally accredited tests such as DELF, DALF, and TCF IRN. The organization hosts a broad array of cultural events, youth programs, and French immersion preschool to engage both children and adults in Francophone culture. Its extensive library, boasting over 18,000 items, is the largest private collection of Francophone media in the Midwest. The venue operates as an independent nonprofit and welcomes all, whether or not they speak French, to participate in their classes and events.
