Old Town School of Folk Music

Founded in 1957, the Old Town School of Folk Music is the largest non-profit community arts school in the United States, located in Chicago, Illinois. The school offers over 700 accredited classes, private lessons, and workshops covering music, dance, theater, and visual arts for people of all ages and abilities. It hosts concerts and special events in its Gary & Laura Maurer Concert Hall and Myron R. Szold Concert Hall. With a faculty of more than 250 artists, the school inspires and educates across diverse folk music traditions. The venue is also known for its Wiggleworms program, which fosters early childhood music appreciation and community engagement.
