Shanghai Museum

The Shanghai Museum, established in 1952, is a premier institution dedicated to ancient Chinese art and culture. Located in the heart of Shanghai at People's Square, it houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of ancient Chinese artifacts. The museum features multiple galleries, interactive experiences, and regularly hosts renowned special exhibitions, such as the recent Ancient Egypt showcase. There are two major museum branches: the main site on People's Square and the new Shanghai Museum East in Pudong, with a third location planned for Yangpu district. As a national first-class museum, it offers guided tours, online exhibitions, and virtual visits to engage both local and international visitors.
