BWAC

The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) is Brooklyn’s largest artist-run organization, established in 1978 to support and showcase emerging and established artists. Operated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, BWAC is dedicated to advancing artists' careers and making art accessible to the public through dynamic exhibitions and programs. BWAC typically organizes three major annual exhibitions and an outdoor sculpture show, featuring a diverse range of local and national artists. Following a fire in 2025 at their Red Hook space, BWAC has been exhibiting at The Whale Building in Sunset Park as they seek a new permanent location. The coalition continues to foster community engagement and artistic collaboration within Brooklyn’s vibrant cultural scene.
