About Yosemite Museum
The Yosemite Museum, established in 1926, is located on Village Drive in Yosemite Valley, California. It was the first dedicated museum building constructed within a national park in the United States, designed by architect Herbert Maier. The museum houses one of the largest and most diverse collections in the national park system, documenting both the natural and cultural history of the Yosemite area. It played a pioneering role as the site of the park's first field school and the first nonprofit cooperating association, now known as Yosemite Conservancy. Today, the museum continues to offer exhibits and educational opportunities, featuring artifacts that highlight Yosemite's legacy and significance.
