Gettysburg Battlefield

Gettysburg National Military Park preserves the site of the pivotal 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, recognized as a turning point of the American Civil War. The park encompasses approximately 6,000 acres and features over 1,300 monuments, 400 cannons, and nearly 150 historic buildings. Visitors can explore the battlefield through guided tours, self-guided auto and walking tours, and educational programs. The park’s visitor center offers exhibits, a museum, and access to maps and licensed battlefield guides. Gettysburg is also home to annual events, commemorations, and serves as the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln’s famed Gettysburg Address.
