About National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, honors federal, tribal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Dedicated in 1991 and designed by architect Davis Buckley, the Memorial features two curving limestone walls inscribed with the names of over 24,000 fallen officers. Located in Judiciary Square, the Memorial is set on three acres adorned with thousands of plants and trees, including a display of daffodils each spring. The site serves as the location for the annual National Police Week and candlelight vigil, where new names are added every year. Maintained by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, it stands as a living tribute to the service and sacrifice of America's law enforcement officers.
