Fort Hamilton is a historic U.S. Army garrison located in Brooklyn, New York, at the base of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. It is the only active duty military installation in the New York City metropolitan area, surrounded by neighborhoods such as Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, and Bensonhurst.
